Event Planning Frequently Asked Questions:
A: Great question. We can give you a menu estimate once we know your food preferences, what type of food service you prefer, and estimated guest count. Please know that the venue you choose will dictate labor and rental expenses, so we will need to know where your event will be held before we can give you a final estimate. See the White House Catering Event Form for the information we use to create a firm proposal.
A: White House Catering has designed literally thousands of menus for corporate, government and private clients. From Classic Southern to New York Chic, we are only limited by your imagination!
A: Yes. We would be happy to coordinate this service for you at no additional charge.
A: We require a small non-refundable deposit to secure our services for the date of your event. This does not bind you to a guest count or a specific menu. 50% of the total estimate is due 30 days before your event and the remaining balance is due the day of the event. We accept checks and electronic transfers.
A: Most venues require an ABC license. White House Catering is licensed by the ABC and if you purchase alcohol through us, you will not need to purchase a license. If you plan to provide your own alcohol and your venue requires an ABC license, you will need to obtain an ABC license. Please note, White House Catering is not allowed by law to store the alcohol you purchase; please coordinate delivery and storage with your venue.
Whether you choose to purchase your own alcohol or prefer that we coordinate that for you, we will provide you with whatever level of beverage service you require. We can help you determine what quantities you will need and can provide the mixers, ice, bartenders, etc. as well.
A: It depends on the requested brands and how long the bar service will last. Most clients find that a consumption bar is more economical than an open bar priced by the hour.
A: We require a small non-refundable deposit to secure our services. We also require 50% of the total estimate be paid 30 days before your event. We understand that sometimes things happen and events get moved because of hurricanes and unforeseen events. We will make every effort to work with you to reschedule your event and apply payments as appropriate for events cancelled within 30 days of the originally contracted date.
A: We encourage planning ahead, but of course we know that sometimes events happen at the last minute. We are a full service catering company staffed and qualified to handle large and small events with a very short lead time.
